(Twin Falls, Idaho) — On July 16, Dorothy Moon won the race for Idaho Republican Party chair during the organization's state convention held at College of Southern Idaho. Moon beat current state chair Tom Luna earning 434 votes to his 287 votes. The victory for Moon is a huge grassroots win for Idaho against special interest’s stronghold on party politics.
Matt Edwards, Executive Director with Citizens Alliance of Idaho, releases the following statement:
"Dorothy Moon winning the GOP State Chair seat is a pivotal moment for the cause of liberty. As a Citizens Alliance of Idaho Pledge Signer, we know that her values align with the US and Idaho Constitution... the only two documents all Idahoans have agreed to live by.
When Representative Moon signed the Pledge, she asked her constituents to hold her publicly accountable for voting to defend these shared Idaho values. And she did not disappoint. This political courage and integrity as a state legislator will no doubt be a valuable asset for the state GOP under her leadership.
Citizens Alliance of Idaho congratulates Dorothy on a massive victory and we are excited to see a champion of Idaho values garner the support of real Idahoans and rise to confront the challenges we face to ensure liberty, and prosperity for all of us."
