Description:
Formally recognized as a species in 2017, the endemic Cassia Crossbill is America’s newest bird species and found only in our very own South Hills! In this workshop you will get to see crossbills feeding on lodgepole pinecones in the South Hills and learn about their remarkable evolutionary history, life history, distribution, conservation status, and threats to their very existence.
Note: You will need to bring your own binoculars to the classroom session and binoculars and lunch to the Saturday field trip. Classroom sessions take place in Shields 201.
Take one or more or take them all! $25 each or $80 for all four.
