Serenity Transitional Care was the third largest nursing home in Twin Falls County during the first quarter of 2026, with data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

The facility had 60 beds available—21 fewer than the average for Twin Falls County—as of the first quarter, and assisted an average of 55.1 residents throughout that period.

Serenity Transitional Care received an overall CMS rating of 4 out of 5, higher than the Idaho nursing home average of 3.2.

During this quarter, Twin Falls Transitional Care of Cascadia and Bridgeview Estates were the largest nursing homes in the county, each offering 116 beds.

By the end of Q1 2026, Serenity Transitional Care had not received any fines or penalties.

There were a total of five for-profit nursing homes operating in Twin Falls County, Idaho.

Estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau show the national population of older adults continues to climb even as the number of younger people decreases. From 2020 to 2024, Americans age 65 and up climbed 13%, and the population under 18 dropped by 1.7%. The senior population in the U.S. has surged in the past hundred years—from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million by 2024.

A study from 2021 finds that almost half of older adults—around 28 million people—are likely to need long-term services and support. More than a third of this age group may eventually require care in a nursing home.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
