Press Release – Investigation Results in Three Felony Charges

On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, Blaine County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Carl Rudy Geissler, age 42 of Hailey, Idaho on three felony charges related to a 3-week investigation involving a reported lost or stolen debit card.

Deputies and Detectives determined that Geissler used the debit card at approximately seventeen local businesses in fraudulent transactions totaling over $5,000. 

Geissler was charged with Grand Theft, I.C. 18-2403, Possession of a Financial Transaction Card. I.C. 18-3125, and Possession of a Controlled Substance, I.C. 37-2732(C)(1), all felonies. 

Geissler remains in the custody of the Blaine County Detention Center pending arraignment in Fifth District Magistrate Court on Thursday afternoon.
