The College of Southern Idaho (CSI) is set to open its new Esports Arena with a ribbon cutting ceremony on January 20, 2026. The event will take place at noon in room 108 of the John C. Hepworth building on the CSI campus in Twin Falls.

The Esports Arena will serve as the home for the CSI Golden Eagles official Esports team. According to CSI, there are plans for the team to join National Junior College Athletics Association Esports (NJCAAE) competitions as early as fall 2026.

“The addition of this competitive space reflects our continued commitment to meeting students where their interests are,” said Dr. Jonathan Lord, CSI Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. “We are excited to enter the NJCAA Esports community and look forward to the opportunities it gives our students to compete, connect, and grow.”

Dr. Lord will host the ceremony, which will also include remarks from CSI President Dr. L. Dean Fisher and representatives from the Twin Falls Chamber of Commerce. Attendees will have an opportunity to watch CSI students play popular video game titles in the new arena environment. The public is invited to attend.
